This long-neglected three-story, nine-bedroom, Grade II-listed Georgian mansion required a comprehensive but sensitive refurbishment.
Mark Gillette Interior Design conceived a fresh but sympathetic personality for every room in the house, sourcing the furnishings, antiques and artworks, as well as creating five modern bathrooms that remain in keeping with the period detailing. A Victorian staff wing was converted to a childrenā€™s area, comprising three bedrooms, a nursery and two bathrooms.
The highlight was the addition of a new octagonal drawing room, brightly day-lit by a glass cupola. With its pitched and planed ceiling it is evocative of holiday homes in the Hamptons.
